Popular Visual Novel The House in Fata Morgana Celebrates Sales Milestone

The popular Visual novel The House in Fata Morgana has recently celebrated a significant sales milestone. It’s Japanese developer NOVECT revealed on Wednesday that it has sold 100,000 units on Steam alone.

The game’s writer and director Keika Hanada expressed his happiness and thanks from fans in a Pixiv Fanbox post, that was shared on X.

“I’m thrilled to announce that “The House in Fata Morgana” has sold over 100,000 copies on Steam. This figure does not include other media, spin-offs, or series titles, only Steam sales. I am deeply grateful for everyone’s support,” wrote Hanada.

“…100,000 is indeed a significant number, one that couldn’t have been reached by the developers alone. Particularly, this title has received immense support from international audiences,” He continued.

“This achievement is thanks to the many translators who worked on various language versions, publisher, and players who have continually supported us through reviews and word of mouth. It’s a number that deserves gratitude and one that I believe everyone should take pride in. That’s why I decided to report it as a celebration….”

Initially releasing in 2012 and on Steam in 2016, The House in Fata Morgana tells a story of an amnesiac ghost and a maid unraveling the mysterious and tragic events that had befallen the past residents of a mansion.

Despite its slow start, The House in Fata Morgana slowly grew a dedicated fanbase and gained recognition for its gripping narrative and visuals. Currently it has a Metacritic score of 96 and an all-time Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam.

The House in Fata Morgana is available on PC via Steam, Playstation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.
