Pony Island 2: Panda Circus Playtesting Available

Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is singleplayer psychological horror game that was revealed in August at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. For those unfamiliar with the game, it takes players through a phantasmagorical voyage through time, myth, divinity, and video games. Players are a young nomad that have been doomed to Earth Prison and must escape the deities of the underworld.

Daniel Mullins Games, the same developers behind Inscryption, posted an announcement on October 8, 2026 that stated a new trailer had dropped and official playtesting was live for the game. Fans who have been excited to see what the developers have cooked up can now start signing up for the Steam Playtest. The creator stated that as the game draws closer to the launch date, more players will be added to the Beta version.

The trailer shows off the developer’s iconic style, seamlessly shifting gameplay from full 3D to retro 2D pixel graphics. Moments of live-action footage are woven into the gameplay, laying in another artistic dimension that promises to leave a lasting impression on players. These recordings hint towards the lord deities of the underworld: Ahriman, Mara, and King Yan.

One more figure is shown before the appearance of Mara, speaking robotically in jest. He could potentially be another underworld deity, though no name is revealed for this mysterious figure. There appears to be small demon horns on his head and he has on classic traingle-shaped glasses. He tells the players that “this game is the best” before floating out of the screen and never reappearing in the trailer.

Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is set to release on April 27th, 2027 and is a single-player experience. Those who want to see the current state of the game can sign up for the playtest by requesting access on its Steam store page. They will receive a notification once the developer is ready to add more participants into the Beta version and this is certainly one game worth checking out.
