Polystream Is Making a Real-Time 3D Experience For Life Is Strange 2, A Demo Will Soon Be Released

Square Enix partnered with 3D streaming platform Polystream to bring a free demo of DONTNOD Entertainment’s hit Life is Strange 2 to PC players. The demo will be delivered by Polystream, who focuses on 3D streaming technology that Polystream has harnessed within the gaming industry. Polystream has applied its technology with other computing experiences. They service virtual computers, assistants and training simulators. Polystream benefits from a combined network where computing power can be shared among other systems on the network. The demo will take advantage of the Polystream’s technology to deliver a top tier 3d experience.

Life is Strange 2 follows the two brothers, 16-year old Sean and 9-year old Daniel Diaz after they run away from their home in Seattle. Life is Strange 2 follows the episodic format of its predecessor and is often praised for the mature themes that it explores in the story and expansion of the mechanics of the first Life is Strange. A Square Enix spokesperson clarified with a statement.

The current global situation around COVID-19 has caused rapid changes that resulted in some crossed wires regarding the Life is Strange 2 Polystream Demo.

This notice shouldn’t have gone out yet and unfortunately the information relayed in press release is incorrect. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. The Life is Strange 2 Polystream demo is currently not available, and will not launch until a later date. We will be proceeding with a soft-launch in the UK soon and we will have more information on the demo rollout in the near future.

We would hugely appreciate it if you could amend any coverage to reflect this. We apologize for this situation and are grateful for your understanding in this matter. Please follow the Life is Strange social channels for more information on the live date, and thank you for your patience.

The distribution method of Life is Strange 2’s demo is yet to be announced. Possibly it could be a downloadable file such as is normal, or it could follow a system similar to Stadia’s streaming service. Polystream’s services and infrastructure would lend itself to being able to stream the demo much like Google’s Stadia or Nvidia’s GeForce.

While the demo is not currently out, Life is Strange 2 is available for purchase on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
