It’s no secret that Nintendo has a Direct conference planned tomorrow and that it’s exclusively about Pokémon. We’re also two days out from the 20th anniversary of the franchise and have no new entries to commemorate it. Have no fear because the logos for two new Pokémon games appeared online ahead of the Direct conference.
Well, maybe have a little bit of fear because this info might not be true.
The names of the games are Sun and Moon and were discovered by NerdLeaks who noticed two new registered trademarks with Europen Union’s trademarking database OHIM (Office For Harmonization of the Internal Market).
What makes this seem a little suspect is how the info came out. First look at this tweet.
Notice that the tweet comes from our good friends over at NinLendo. Also as GameInformer pointed out the trademark was filed by Nintendo, not The Pokémon Company, and that might not mean much but it does make you wonder.
The chances of Nintendo announcing a new Pokémon game tomorrow are high, whether it will be Sun and Moon or a follow up to Pokémon X and Y is obviously unknown.
We’ll give you more information as it becomes available.
The Nintendo Direct Conference will be tomorrow starting at 7 A.M Pacific/10 A.M Eastern. Nintendo will be streaming the event on Twitch and through their website.
