The Pokemon Presents Broadcast was aired at 6 am this morning, and with it, came new information regarding three new games, a new feature for Pokemon Go, and a special Max-Raid battle. The broadcast was announced yesterday and stated that it would include information regarding the Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield Expansion Pass. While the broadcast didn’t reveal anything new regarding the Expansion Pass, it did reveal a special Max-Raid Event featuring the mythical Pokemon Zeraora. If more than 1,000,000 players defeat this Dynamaxed Zeraora before June 28th, a shiny version of this Pokemon will be distributed to everyone playing Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield.
The broadcast revealed three new games, Pokemon Smile for the iOS, Pokemon Cafe Mix for the iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch, and a blast from the past, New Pokemon Snap, which will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon Smile is intended to incentivize young children to have fun while brushing their teeth. The game is now available for use on any smart device and uses the built-in camera to detect how well the children are brushing their teeth. If they brush well, they will be able to rescue various Pokemon from bacteria. By doing this on a regular basis, children will also be able to have virtual Pokemon caps that they can view as they brush.
Pokemon Cafe Mix is a unique puzzle game in which players can link various Pokemon Icons together by swirling them around. The player will be able to serve various Pokemon customers and prepare a number of adorable drinks and dishes. The more you help your customers, the more famous your cafe gets, and the more famous your cafe gets, the more customers will visit. You can befriend numerous customers who can then become your employees, which can allow you to complete puzzles more easily.
The third game that was revealed is a sequel to the Nintendo 64 rail-shooter and simulation game Pokemon Snap. In New Pokemon Snap, players will be able to explore various islands and take pictures of Pokemon, just like in the original Nintendo 64 version. However, this time, players will be able to take photographs of Pokemon from every current generation, meaning players will be able to snap photographs of Pokemon from Pikachu to Scorbunny. The game doesn’t have a solid release date yet, but according to Serebii.net, the game will be releasing some time in 2021.
The Pokemon Presents Broadcast also revealed that very soon, Pokemon Go players will be able to use Mega Evolution. It is unknown how this mechanic will work at the moment, however, Tsunekazu Ishikawa has stated that he and the Pokemon Go team have been “working to deliver a new take on Mega Evolution that is enhanced by Pokemon Go’s unique gameplay.” It is unknown if this means that players will be able to see brand new Mega Evolutions, but it is possible, considering that Pokemon Go introduced a brand new Pokemon to the Pokedex. Aside from this, players are receiving a brand new set of clothing for the Isle Of Armor DLC in Pokemon Go, and Galarian Farfetch’d are also currently available in Pokemon Go.
