Niantic has released the first details of December’s Pokémon Go Community Day event, which will be a culmination of past Community Days. Rather than just a single, three-hour event, December’s Community Day will span an entire weekend, December 14 and 15, from 9 AM to 9 PM local time each day. To celebrate 2018’s Community Days, all 11 Pokémon that were featured on individual Community Days this year will be featured again during this weekend event, in addition to other bonuses.
The featured Pokémon that will appear more frequently in the wild are Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig, and Chimchar. Other Pokémon will appear more frequently in raids, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Beldum. On Saturday, December 14, players will be more likely to hatch Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu, Dratini, Totodile, Mareep, Swinub, Larvitar, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bakon from Eggs. On Sunday, December 15, players will be more likely to hatch Squirtle, Eevee, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Ralts, Trapinch, Beldum, Turtwig, and Chimchar from Eggs. Featured Pokémon who evolve during the Community Day hours will learn exclusive moves that they only could have previously learned during past Community Days.
Though the event lasts twelve hours each day, some bonuses and encounters will increase from 11 AM to 2 PM local time both days. On December 14, Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon will appear more frequently in the wild. On December 15, from 11 AM to 2 PM, Mudkip, Ralts, Trapinch, Turtwig, and Chimchar will appear more frequently. On both days, players will also receive double the amount of Stardust and XP when catching Pokémon, and be able to hatch Eggs placed into Incubators during these hours at half the required distance.
In the weeks leading up to December’s Community Day, players can enjoy several in-game events recently announced by Niantic, including the currently ongoing Supereffective Week, Terrakion Raids next week, and Friend Fest later this month.
