Pokémon GO has always encouraged players to get out into the world and connect with fellow trainers as they catch Pokémon and challenge gyms. Many fans gathered together in Times Square to celebrate the anniversary, as the game held a surprise live event to commemorate ten years of the game’s life. The Pokémon GO team, while they celebrate ten years of catching, state that they are still looking ahead to the future of the game. It seems they haven’t forgotten the vision they had for the game, encouraging exploration and connection. Entering its second decade of life now, Pokémon GO has both old fans and new wondering what will come next for the mobile game.
Pokémon GO has been encouraging players to do go out and connect for over a decade now. With millions of players all over the world and over a trillion pokémon caught, it’s no wonder why the game has been popular for ten years. But beyond catching pokémon, the game has always inspired fans to explore beyond what they knew and visit places that they’ve never seen before.
