Looks like were in for yet another State of Play. Sony has announced that the next installment of their livestream specials will commence tomorrow on Wednesday, March 9, at 2:00 PM PST/5:00 PM EST on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. The stream itself will be roughly 20 minutes in length and will focus on “highlighting great games coming from some of our beloved Japanese publishers, though we’ll have a few updates from other developers located around the world, too.”

Sony notes in their blog that they will not have any updates on the recently announced PlayStation VR2 nor any of the titles associated with it. Since this livestream will be a focal point of the Japanese arm of the company, it’s safe to assume that we will not see any sort of announcements or updates from any other studios from North America, nor Europe. This will also be the first full-length feature State of Play for 2022, as the previous two events were focused on one title, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Grand Turismo 7. The last one with numerous titles shown was back in October 2021.
As for the titles to expect this time around, it’s a high probability that we’ll see some more information in regards to Final Fantasy XVI, which is releasing as a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5. Another potential IP that we could see is the still unannounced Resident Evil 4 Remake. More details about the project were leaked just last month, which could lead to an inevitable reveal tomorrow. Some other possibilities include other upcoming titles such as Star Ocean: The Divine Force, Soul Hackers 2, and Digimon Survive. Either way, we won’t have to wait long, and we cannot wait until tomorrow.
The PlayStation State of Play will commence tomorrow, Wednesday, March 9, at 2:00 PM PST/5:00 PM EST and will be available to watch on their respective YouTube and Twitch channels.
