One of the bigger initiatives PlayStation did for this current generation was going multiplatform and putting PlayStation Studios games on PC. Over the past six years, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2, Uncharted: Legacy of Thevies Collection, The Last of Us Part I &II, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarok, and more became available on PC. Saros and Ghost of Yotei were going to be the next games going to PC but that is no longer going to be the case. PlayStation is pulling back and is no loger planning on releasing its big PlayStation games on PC, making a return to console exclusivity.
NEW: Sony no longer plans to release PlayStation games on PC, sources tell Bloomberg News, a major shift in strategy that sees the console maker returning to exclusivity after six years of flirting with multiplatform.

Many believe that the reason for the shift in strategy was due to PlayStation games not selling well on PC. There are also some within the company that have expressed concern that releasing their games on PC risks damaging the console’s brand and will hurt sales of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 6.
One important piece of context here is that when someone buys a PlayStation, Sony doesn’t just get their $500+. The company also gets 30% of *everything* they buy on the PlayStation Store. In other words, Sony makes the most money by getting as many people as possible on its consoles

Many within the company have also noted that things could change due to the unpredictable nature of the video game industry and that Sony’s plans are constantly shifting.
Despite no longer releasing games developed internally, PlayStation looks like that they will still release games that have been developed externally and published by PlayStation. Death Stranding 2 and Kena: Scars of Kosmora.
