PlayStation 5 Pro Rumored To Be The Most Powerful Console Ever

The PlayStation 5 pro has been rumored to be releasing some time next year and many have speculated at just how powerful the new console will be compared to its base version. With the launch of the Ps5 slim last month it’s surprising to be hearing of Sony’s next console expansion so soon but the news was not directly from Sony. If the console is set to release sometime next year it would check out in comparison to the Ps5 predecessor the Ps4. The Ps4 launched in 2013 with its pro version releasing in 2016, a 3 year time difference in comparison to the Ps5’s life cycle. The Pro version of the console is also being rumored to be the most powerful console ever made.

To do a little deep dive into the leaks, the current Ps5 model comes with a CPU boost frequency of 3.5 GHz 2.23 GHz GPU. The Ps5 Pro will allegedly be bringing frequencies of 3.6 GHz for the CPU and 2.7 GHz for GPU. This would equal to more stability in 60 FPS at a clean 4k, and even 8k resolution options depending on titles and their availability to do so.

Many have begun speculating that a lot of the recent delays from Sony titles have been to make them coincide with the Ps5 Pro launch in order to maximize sales. Rumored titles such as the multiplayer only title for The Last Of Us universe and some of the upcoming Final Fantasy remakes. It would also make sense that Sony would want their most optimal console released in time for Grand Theft Auto 6, a potential Ghost Of Tsushima 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine. It is plausible that the announcement of the console happens sometime between summer and fall in preparation for a holiday 2024 launch.
