After a week-long delay, Sony finally unveiled what players will be able to play in the next-generation on PlayStation 5. The Future of Gaming event showcased several games from PlayStation Studios such as Guerilla and Insomniac Games as well as other games from other third-party studios. The event concluded with the reveal of the console design itself as well as other PlayStation 5 accessories.
PlayStation Studios games revealed during the event include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, and the remake of Demon Souls.
Third-party games announced during the event an expanded and enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V; Leading up to the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online on PlayStation 5, all PS4 owners will get $1 million in GTA money every month, Godfall, Project Athia, Hitman III, Ghostwire Tokyo, Deathloop, Resident Evil Village, NBA 2k21, and Pragmata.
Indie games revealed during the event include Bugsnax, Goodbye Volcano High, Jett: The Far Shore, Kena: Bridge of the Spirits, Little Devil Inside, Oddworld: Soulstorm, The Pathless, Stray, and Solar Ash.
Speaking about the PlayStation 5 console reveal, PlayStation said: “At PS5’s launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation 5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition without a disc drive. The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation.
Sony also revealed other PlayStation 5 accessories that will be available to purchase including a charging station for the DualSense controller, HD camera, Pulse 3D wireless headset, and a media remote. Additional details about the PlayStation 5 including the pricing and release date will come later in the year.
