It looks like Japanese developer Platinum Games is going to try their hand at a Summer type event. Dubbed the Super Summer Festival, the developer will be livestreaming the entire thing this Friday, August 27, at 8:00 PM PDT/ 11:00 PM EDT. The event will focus on future updates for three titles, World of Demons, Sol Cresta, and The Wonderful 101: Remastered, and will run for approximately two hours.
Platinum Games will show some behind the scenes information about World of Demons, which is an Apple Arcade title that released in April. Then they’ll continue with the upcoming Sol Cresta, a top-down shooter that is a full fledged sequel to the 1980’s arcade classics Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta. Director Takanori Sato will play the game live during the event, and will point out certain features and mechanics as it goes on.
Lastly, Platinum will go over some new DLC for The Wonderful 101: Remastered, which launched in May 2020. The title is a graphical upgrade to the cult classic Nintendo Wii U title, which originally came out in 2013. The Remastered port initially had to go through a Kickstarter campaign in order to even be considered for creation. It eventually reached its goals and then some, which lead to it being ported to the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
While this is very exciting, it appears that the studio will not be reporting on any other future highly anticipated IP’s, such as the long-awaited Bayonetta 3. Still, they could throw a surprise or two in there. Either way we won’t have to wait long to find out. Platinum Games Super Summer Festival Livestream will commence this Friday, August 27, at 8:00 PM PDT/ 11:00 PM EDT. You can watch it live on their official YouTube Channel right here.
