Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition Releases Later This Month

Pillars of Eternity developer Obsidian Entertainment, along with publisher Paradox Interactive, recently published a statement confirming a definitive edition of the game arriving later this November.

The Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition will include the base game, originally the result of a successful crowdfunding campaign and released in 2015, plus other existing Pillars content, and a few new extras introduced with this edition. The expansions White March: Parts 1 & 2 are both included, which add new areas to explore and quests to complete. All of the content from Pillars of Eternity: Royal Edition will also be present, including the original soundtrack, a digital collector’s book, and an original novella set in the Pillars universe. New content for the definitive edition is called “The Deadfire Pack,” inspired, according to Obsidian, by the upcoming sequel Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The bundle includes several portraits and in-game items.

Obsidian added that “the new Deadfire Pack DLC will also be made available for free to all existing (and future) owners of Pillars of Eternity on Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs to thank them for their ongoing support of what has become one of the world’s most beloved RPGs.”

Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition will release on November 15th, for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
