Phil Spencer Teases Games From Xbox Game Studios At E3 2019

With E3 fast approaching, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, took to Twitter to mention that the company had finished the rehearsal for this year’s Microsoft press conference. The Tweet reveals that the conference will have the most first-party games that they’ve ever had in the show:

While having 14 First-Party games is a lot, especially for Xbox who has been ridiculed online for not having games, this shouldn’t be too surprising. At last year’s E3 Press Conference, Phil Spencer took the time to announce 5 new studios that they had acquired. One of them is a brand new studio called The Initiative which will focus on creating ambitious and innovate game experiences. The other four studios include Playground Games who develops the Forza Horizon series, Ninja Theory who developed Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Compulsion Games, developers of We Happy Few, and Undead Labs who developed the State of Decay series. Later that year, in November, Microsoft acquired Obsidian Entertainment and InXile Entertainment.

Some of the 14 Xbox Game Studios games that will most likely show up during the show include 343 Industries with Halo: Infinite, and The Coalition with Gears 5 which was revealed last year at E3.  Obsidian Entertainment may show something new but will probably share a new look at their upcoming title, The Outer Worlds. Wasteland 3 from InXile may also share something new as both titles from the Xbox Game Studios are set to release this year.

Recently, Phil Spencer revealed something else that they will go over in more detail at their press conference. There will be PC version of Xbox Game Pass. The PC version of Xbox Game Pass is “a new experience that Microsoft is building together with the PC community”.

E3 is the place to get a sneak peek at all the new games coming. A new Darksiders Game is coming as well as the first look at Marvel’s Avengers. The Xbox Briefing will take place on June 9. Microsoft has confirmed that the Briefing will clock in at 2 hours long and they will be showcasing new games, new services, and the next generation.
