S-GAME’s upcoming action RPG, Phantom Blade Zero, centers around a warrior who has suffered a fatal heart wound. Soul has only 66 days to live and he has been framed with his master’s murder. He is a wanted man, danger lurks around every corner, and a variety of enemies are hunting him down.
Players must fight off assassins while exploring the phantom world, a mysterious realm where secrets intertwine and each a new path begins as another ends. There are over 30 primary weapons that players can master along with Phantom Edges taken from fallen enemies. Combat is rooted in the martial arts style, allowing players to learn deadly combo attacks to destroy their foes.
The game’s style is a mixture of punk fantasy and the Golden Age of Wuxia genres. This means that players can expect many enrapturing cinematic moments, such as those revealed in the Pre-Order Trailer earlier this morning. It is an 11 minute long trailer, showcasing combat on top of a moving cart along with seamless transitions into cinematic scenes.
The trailer not only teases viewers with action packed moments with quick time events, but also a narrative that is woven into the combat. The kungfu style and design has been largely assisted by the Creative Consultant, Donnie Yen. A renowned kungfu filmmaker and actor, who has been involved with the creative team since 2023.
In Phantom Blade Zero, the enemies are as relentless as the turmoil inflicting the world. It is a game sure to leave players on the edge of their seats until it’s release date. PC players can start pre-ordering the game on Steam and the Epic Games store, while console players can pre-order it on the PlayStation store for the PS5. Phantom Blade Zero officially releases on October 28, 2026. Just in time for players wanting a game that fits the spooky season without needing to be in the horror genre.
