Persona 5 Gets A 2016 Summer Release

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been on the edge of my seat for new content from Atlus. Persona 5 has been around four agonizing years in the making, and each time there is a new statement from the head honchos at Atlus, my heart skips a couple beats. Yes, the game has faced delays, but it seems well worth the wait for this exciting installment in the popular RPG series!

In an interview given to Famitsu, Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka told reporter Hachima Kikou:

In 2015, we were able to develop existing IP like Persona 4: Dancing All Night and Etrian Mystery Dungeon. In 2016, starting with Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, we plan to release a large number of titles. In the summer, we’ll launch the long-awaited Persona 5. Of course, in addition to that we have several unannounced titles. I have no doubt this will be a year Atlus’ popular series all gather together.

Originally announced for a 2014 release, fans have faced much disappointment and thumb twiddling as developers (a notorious lot of perfectionist over at Atlus) strived for nothing but the absolute best. After a long waited silence, fans are eager to pin down an exact release date from developers.

We can look forward to playing Persona 5 on either our Playstation 3 (for those still rocking out with their PS3s, we salute you!) and for Playstation 4. Price is still unannounced, but we can set our watches to Summer of 2016!
