EA Announces Origin Access

Electronic Arts just launched a new subscription service for PC users called Origin Access.

This newly announced subscription service operates very much in the same manner as their EA Access service for Xbox One. Subscribers are given access to The Vault, a collection of full version games which can be played for free. The service launches with 15 available titles free to play listed below:

  • Battlefield 3
  • Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe
  • Battlefield Hardline Digital Deluxe
  • Dead Space
  • Dead Space 2
  • Dead Space 3
  • Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition
  • Dragon Age II
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition Digital Deluxe
  • FIFA 15
  • Need for Speed Rivals Complete Edition
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
  • The Sims 3 Starter Pack
  • SimCity
  • This War of Mine

Subscribers also will get exclusive access to EA titles before they are officially released called Play First Trials. These versions of the the game will not be demos and progress made from playing these versions will carry over if the game is bought. The next Play First Trial will start on February 4th for the game Unravel and will gives access for to the game’s first two levels for up to 10 hours.

An automatic 10% discount will also be given to subscribers for any content bought from Origin.com. This includes new releases, pre-orders, expansions, game packs, and points.

Price for the service is set a $4.99 per month. No option for an annual subscription has been made available like it’s Xbox One counterpart yet.

Origin Access is available now in the US, Canada, Germany, and U.K. More countries will be able to receive the service in the near future. Games in The Vault will vary from country to country.
