Persona 25th Anniversary Website Launches Teasing 7 New Projects

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the long-running Persona series, a beloved RPG franchise full of unique characters and enticing stories. With over 15 million copies sold worldwide, it is one of the most recognizable game series in the genre. Atlus now wants to express its gratitude to fans for supporting them along the way with a new anniversary site, teasing much to come for the series and its future.

Atlus announced on Twitter that they are preparing multiple announcements to commemorate this milestone.  The website, which was launched earlier today, lists 7 (that’s right, 7!) announcements to come, with the first one expecting to happen in September later this year.  Several more announcements will are going to be made over the next year, with the final project scheduled for announcement in Autumn 2022. Given that the tweet came from both Atlus and Atlus West, it’s safe to assume that whatever announcements are made will likely make their way over to the west.

While nobody knows what these announcements could be, many are speculating that it must be something big considering the sheer amount of announcements. Alongside this anniversary teaser, pre-orders are up for various merchandise products, such as acrylics, keyrings, and mugs featuring the various protagonists and mascots of the Persona series.

The last Persona game to be released was Persona 5 Strikers. Here at mxdwn, we gave the game an 8 out of 10, saying in our review, “Persona 5 Strikers is an incredibly fun hack and slash with substance and style to it. Now that it isn’t just locked to Playstation consoles, more people can enjoy the Persona universe and see what all the hype is about, and this is a great game to just sit back and slay shadows on.” Speaking of more people enjoying Persona, Persona 4 Golden also was ported to PC last year, giving fans even more chances to experience this franchise. If you weren’t on board before, now may be a great time to jump into this unique RPG franchise.
