Perfect Dark Announced at The Game Awards

It’s been a long time coming, but a franchise that has been dormant has finally returned! Announced at The Game Awards, and being worked on by Microsoft studio The Initiative, Perfect Dark is back. For those who are unaware, this series initially started on the Nintendo 64, and found itself a dedicated fanbase in the process. We also got a beautiful teaser trailer to boot, which gave us a grim look at the world that Joanna Dark and company will be dealing with.

The Initiative described the game as a first person shooter with an “eco sci-fi theme”, keeping the series with it’s iconic roots in the process. As for the teaser trailer, the entire thing was shown from the lens of a camera on a drone, all in one incredible take.

As we can see, the shot goes through a good amount of land before traveling through a building and climbing to the top. There we see Joanna Dark staring at the landscape before the official title comes across the screen. No actual gameplay was shown, but that teaser trailer was more than enough to get us excited to play the first Perfect Dark title in 15 years.
