People Can Fly To Collaborate With Microsoft On New Unnamed Project

Polish game studio People Can Fly recently announced its collaboration with Microsoft under a new AAA title codenamed Project Maverick. According to Polish website Interia Biznes, the two companies signed an agreement for the new game on Tuesday. Additionally, the announcement noted that Project Maverick would have fully funded between $30-50 million USD by Microsoft, People Can Fly developing it in a work-for-hire model. Previously, People Can Fly worked on Gears of War: Judgment, Bulletstorm, Outriders, and Fortnite. during its time with Epic Games.

In July 2020, People Can Fly announced the development of a AAA title called Project Dagger with its New York studio led by the director of Just Cause 3 Roland Lesterlin. After two years of development, it was reportedly discontinued when Take-Two and People Can Fly parted ways in September 2022, leaving People Can Fly the sole owner of Project Dagger’s IP. It’s unclear if Project Maverick is a brand new title but more than likely it could be Project Dagger repurposed.

Regardless, more information will likely come out from People Can Fly and Microsoft in the coming months. Those that are interested can head over to People Can Fly’s social media for future updates.

Caitlyn Taylor: New media and entertainment have been apart of my life since I was very young, and I don't think that interest will ever go away. When I'm bored, I immerse myself in lore videos no matter the length.
