Owlcat Games Announces Release Date for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, Releases December 7th

Fans of Warhammer 40,000 as well as RPGs in general will be pleased to hear that CRPG studio Owlcat Games has announced that their upcoming game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will be releasing on December 7th, 2023. The much anticipated RPG will be just in time for the holiday season, and the trailer they’ve provided promises much of the choice and atmosphere that 40K enthusiasts should appreciate.

This will be the third game developed by Owlcat Games, coming off the back of their recent successes in Pathfinder: Kingmaker in 2019 and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous in 2021, both lauded for being faithful to the spirit of the Pathfinder tabletop game, and now it seems they are expanding their horizons to yet another popular tabletop property, this time Game Workshops’ Rogue Trader.

Fans of the Warhammer 40,000series will easily recognize the iconic designs and weapons of 40K’s Imperium of Man in the trailer, but Rogue Trader promises to focus on factions outside of the Imperium’s iconic Imperial Guard or Space Marines, with companions from the ever popular Sisters of Battle and even the Drukhari who will accompany you as you travel throughout the galaxy, battling whatever horrors the universe pits against you both on foot in grid-based tactical battles, as well as in ship-based naval combat in space.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is but one of many Warhammer 40,000 games to be pushed to the forefront alongside the much anticipated Space Marine 2, as well as the recently released Warhammer 40K: Boltgun and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, it seems that the future of gaming will be seeing a lot of the grim and dark world of Warhammer 40,000 as the property looks to gain a foothold with a new audience, and I am very excited to see one of the most popular franchises in the history of tabletop gaming make the move to the digital realm.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is available for pre-order now for PC through Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store and the game will also be available on Xbox Series X|S as well as and PS5.
