Overwatch’s “Brick” Challenge is Here, Letting Players Get LEGO-themed Prizes

Back in November 2018, Blizzard had announced that they would be one half of a collaboration with building toy powerhouse, LEGO. And for the new year, launching in January 2019, they revealed six sets of Overwatch-themed LEGO kits, including certain characters, certain scenes from their animated shorts, and then some. It was charming, cute, and made some people feel like a kid again. But nearly a year after their launch, Blizzard has finally decided to add in something LEGO-themed in their actual game of Overwatch. That being, another Play, Watch, Earn Event to get a Brick based Bastion cosmetic:

While the Bastion skin doesn’t quite look exactly like the color scheme of his mini counterpart of LEGO’s, it does really look like he’s made of the handheld building blocks. Just full sized. And with a matching Ganymede brick bird, the look is complete.

Much like the previous Play, Watch, Earn Events such as for the Bastet Challenge, the Baptiste Challenge, and the Nano Cola Challenge for D.Va, the game relies on players to win 9 matches in either Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade Games to obtain certain goals. The first goal (after winning 3 matches total) is getting two player icons, both Bastion and Ganymede done in the LEGO-style of the event. The second goal (after winning 6 matches total) is two sprays of Pharah and Mercy looking like their own LEGO counterparts from their kit. And the final goal (after winning 9 matches total) is the Bastion “Brick” cosmetic, which is Legendary status.

Along with the in-game rewards, players can obtain further rewards by watching specific Twitch streams. Much like the in-game tier system, there is a tier system for watching as well. Each tier is dependent on how many hours that a player watches, and rewards are based on that. Rewards include (all LEGO-themed remember) a D.Va spray, two icons of Widowmaker and Tracer, two sprays of Genji and Hanzo with their dragons out, two icons of Genji and Hanzo to match as well.

The Bastion Brick Play, Watch, Earn Event is currently live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and will be playable until September 30, 2019.
