Overwatch 2 Announces New Hero Lifeweaver

Overwatch has announced that a new hero is coming to Overwatch 2. The next new hero named Lifeweaver is among the support-class. Overwatch announced the hero reveal directly on their Twitter stating, “Lifeweaver is about to blossom.” Overwatch said alongside the post that more will be revealed tomorrow, possibly a reveal trailer of the character and more info on his abilities. So far all we have is an image of Lifeweaver who is adorned wearing a white robe with an orange sash, Lifeweaver also has a large pink flower petal floating off his back. Lifeweaver is also holding a small lotus flower which most likely include his abilities in some way to heal teammates or provide buffs. Lifeweaver seems to be from Thailand as is the location of the background he poses in front of. Lifeweaver also has long white hair, pretty similar to Mercy’s iconic hairstyle. Also the way he holds his lotus flower is heavily reminiscent of another hero, Symmetra how she holds her own abilities in hand. It’s possible the two have some shared lore.

Lifeweaver will most likely be available through Overwatch 2 new battle pass system, where if you buy the premium battle pass you get Lifeweaver automatically. Everyone else can earn him for free at a certain battle pass level if attained. He will most likely be added once the new Overwatch 2 Season 4 begins on April 11th. As usual with every other newly introduced hero, he won’t be on competitive for the first few weeks to adjust any general bugs. Overwatch 2 Season 4 will also bring new battle pass rewards, skins, weapon charms, highlight intros, emotes, victory poses and much more.

Overwatch 2 hasn’t seen a support addition since the game’s release, refresh, 2.0 version, it’s still hard to say if Overwatch 2 is a sequel really— but that support hero added was Kiriko who uses her talismans to heal, kunai to damage enemies and her Kitsune spirit ultimate.
