Ori and the Will of the Wisps Set for 2019 Release

The creators of Ori and the Blind Forest have a sequel on the way with Ori and the Will of the Wisps. This year, Ori will embark on a new journey with updated combat options and customizations as puzzles are solved along the way. Moon Studios has not officially announced a release date, but have the hope to launch the game at some point in 2019. Check out the gameplay trailer that was shown at E3 2018:

Ori’s first adventure was met with widely positive reviews after its release in 2015. The ventures of the orphaned protagonist led them on a quest to save the dying forest of Nibel. Players must take on the evil storm that has brought darkness to the forest through exploration and puzzle-solving in this action-platformer. The visuals of Ori and the Blind Forest featured hand-painted artwork that provided players with an emotional and stunning environment. As the story progressed, Moon Studios introduced themes of “love and sacrifice, and the hope that exists in us all.”

Ori and the Will of the Wisps will continue this world’s story with more puzzles and more battles with dark enemies. The new combat system will include dozens of new spirits weapons, spells, and skills that will feature all an unseen arsenal. A shard system will be in place for players to power up abilities that will aid in defeating bosses and overcoming challenges. Also, Ori will have discoverable allies along the way that can provide help and begin optional quests to tack onto the main story. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the gaming community is looking forward to this sequels release, as Ori and the Will of the Wisps recently won the award for “Most Anticipated” game at the Unity Awards 2018.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is set to arrive on the Xbox One and PC this year.
