Open World RPG Elex Coming to PC and Consoles This October

Piranha Bytes and THQ Nordic have come together to create brand new open world Action RPG that takes players on a mystical and Mechanical adventure. Elex will be making its way to consoles and PC on October 17th of this year.

The story begins with with the main character being raised as an Alb who was fed pure Elex. This enabled him to grow strong but stripped him of his emotions so long as he continues to consume it. As a military trained and hardened soldier the players journey begins with you far away from home and unable to get your hands on Elex, you begin to get your emotions back as you battle to stay alive. You will be surrounded by enemies and as put by THQ Nordic, “The decisions you make will decide the fate of the world. Magalan – will you be its slayer or its saviour?”

Unlike some open world games that have come in the past, from the start, players will have access to every inch of the five regions that occupy the game. “The only thing in the world that will stop you are the mutant creatures that live in Magalan’s Elex-polluted landscapes. Walk, run, or punch your jetpack into action. If you can see it, you can reach it. Open world role-playing has never been more open.”

Players will have a choice of joining one of the four factions depending on what there preference will be. As seen in the above trailer, the game looks pretty awesome. We see giant machines, monsters, and a bunch of battle hungry enemies ready to kill you at first sight.

One thing to note is that there won’t be a traditional class system like most RPG games. Players will need to “earn the trust of experienced teachers to develop the skills you select”. through dialogue and actions players will need to influence those around you to create allies or enemies. It would seem as though player choices will effect the overall outcome of how the story will end.

But sadly, everyone is going to have to wait until October to get their hands on it. Which faction will you choose?
