Developer Starry Studio has announced that their free-to-play multiplayer open-world survival game Once Human will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This information shared by Gematsu, also reports that the title is also available to be wishlisted on The PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. Once Human originally launched on PC July of 2024 and in April 2025 for iOS and Android.

Once Human is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth where a cataclysmic event has saturated the planet with “Stardust,” an alien substance that mutates all life into grotesque “Deviations” and contaminates the environment. Players assume the role of Meta-Humans, biologically enhanced individuals who possess the unique ability to resist and control the alien Stardust”that has transformed Earth. Their goal is to survive, explore, and fight mutated Deviations in the Stardust-corrupted world while working in collaboration with others.

In Once Human players will traverse across a 256 km²  map across biomes including tundras, volcanoes, deserts where players can hunt, farm, build and engage in combat. Players will secure resources through team-based battles and hunt deviants. Players can secure a base anywhere in the open-world environment, with defensive traps and storage for resources. Once Human also features the capability of befriending deviants, by using them as combat allies or resource gatherers, needing to their deviant’s well being to prevent rebellion. 

Starry Studio aims to expand Once Human‘s reach and satisfy player demand by launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Building on the successful PC and mobile releases, Starry aims to offer console players the full “PC-quality gaming” experience as the developer states. With greater platform freedom and the ability to play with friends anywhere, cross-platform engagement comes into greater focus. The studio anticipates these versions will cement the title’s presence across platforms when it releases next year.
