Once Human is a multiplayer open-world survival game that has players trying to survive an eldritch apocalypse. Developed by Starry Studio and published by Netease Games, the game originally released July 9th of 2024 on Steam. But, not long after it’s 2nd anniversary, a new trailer was uploaded onto Youtube, announcing that Once Human will be coming to consoles.
The trailer shows plenty of gameplay from Once Human, and displays plenty of the core aspects from an open-world survival game. Collecting materials, base building, and collaborating with other survivors against dangerous monsters. With this announcement of Once Human coming to the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S, it is likely that a new wave of players will come in to try the game for themselves.
Earlier, on June 12th of this year, the Once Human developers posted that they were recruiting for the final open beta for the console version of the game. Tomorrow, on July 17th, this open beta will officially begin at 7pm Pacific Time. Beta testers for this version of the game will be rewarded for their contributions if they reach level 20 on any character within the open beta, and will be given the choice between a character outfit or a weapon skin.
The open beta for the console edition of Once Human will end on August 4th of this year, so players testing the bat will have a few weeks of time to obtain their prize of choice. The developers will also have some time to iron out any creases in the code between the end of the open beta and the full release of the game, as Once Human will officially release on consoles on August 25th. For any console gamers looking for a new open-world survival game to play should be sure to give this game a look. Between the unique horror elements that the game is wrapped in and the gameplay loop similar to other games in its genre, Once Human has a lot to offer to any interested console players.
