Noblechairs at E3 Showcases the Best Gaming Chair of 2017, Among Other Models

Beyond gaming titles, E3 is also the prime spot to display the industry’s best gamer gear and accessories. The specialized chair-making company Noblechairs was born about two years ago, wanting to fill a niche in the market for unique seating.

Noblechairs wasn’t conceived as a gaming chair company. They make office chairs, inspired by “the world’s best racing cars,” for those people looking for something a little different in their next chair—or for a gamer looking to perfect that all-day gaming posture. After all, gamers can hardly afford to get a bad back during an all-day session of their favorite FPS.

At the company’s E3 setup this year, we got a tour of the goods and a thorough list of each current chair’s highlights. If you’re in the market for a specialized gaming chair, it actually pays to look at what each chair is built for.

The EPIC Series, on display at Noblechairs’ E3 booth, was officially named the Best Gaming Chair of 2017. That means over a hundred editors from 9 different countries determined the chairs’ worthiness in a gamer’s life, which is a pretty good endorsement as far as they go. Noblechairs’ ICON series, also on display, has just followed in the footsteps of EPICs. The chair was recently given the Best Gaming Chair of 2018 award by the European Hardware Awards.

The ICON series of chair goes for the “minimalist look,” and is designed with ergonomics in mind. It’s filled with a material that is noticeably denser and less malleable when you sit down, meant to support the natural shape of its user’s back. Even with the rigid material, it’s still a comfortable office or gaming chair. The ICON also allows you to safely recline almost at a 180 degree angle; if you did drift off and take a nap in your chair, this one would be well suited for the job.

The EPIC, meanwhile, comes with the same posture-protecting perks of ICON, and it’s more flashy-looking, a little less of a minimalist style. Both chairs have the useful benefits of 4-directional armrests, which are “endlessly customizable” and easy on your arms.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
