No Man’s Sky to be Released on June 21

It was announced today that Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky will be released for PS4 and Steam on June 21st in North America and June 24th for the UK.  Since it was announced about three years ago during the 2013 Spike Video Game awards, players have been patiently waiting to try Hello Games’ space exploration game.  No Man’s Sky isn’t an open-world sandbox game, but an open-universe sandbox game that let’s players explore unique planets.

No Man’s Sky has promised to be a gameplay experience unlike anything before.  Instead of hunting alien creatures or fighting in space ships, the focus of the game is exploration and observing different planets.  Player’s can upgrade their ship, suit, and weapons as they explore the supposed 18 quintillion generated planets.  There isn’t a specific objective in No Man’s Sky, rather player’s are free to explore the galaxy and discover new life and environments on their own.  While many sandbox games let you explore freely, No Man’s Sky central gameplay is about discovering the unexpected on your own.

We will all get the chance to be space explorers when No Man’s Sky launches this June.
