Nitara Returns in Mortal Kombat 1, Will be Played By Megan Fox

Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated titles of 2023 has to be NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1The fighting game community has been eagerly waiting for the next entry, and the studio has been pumping out more information as we head to the title’s launch date of September 19, or September 14 for those with the Kollector and Premium Editions. The most recent addition to the game has been revealed, and it’s none other than the almost-forgotten vampire warrior Nitara. In addition, the character will be portrayed and voiced by actress Megan Fox.

Long-time fans of the series will recognize Nitara as one of the newer fighters introduced in 2002’s Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Nitara hails from the dark realm of Vaeternus, and she will join the battle in order to protect her race of vampires. In the trailer, Actress Megan Fox states that she resonates with her in-game character and relishes the chance to portray her. “It’s cool to be in the game, you know? Because I’m not really just voicing it, it’ll be like she’s kind of me,” she said.

Being a vampire, Nitara utilizes her abilities to literally suck the blood out of her opponents. She also uses her hands, or claws, to juggle enemies into an air combo, in which she takes flight and bashes them with her wings as well. Nitara’s return is just one of many fighters making their appearance in the game, as we also got a slew of DLC fighters announced this past July, as well as longtime stalwarts Shao Khan and Sindel. Either way, the game is shaping up nicely with an amazing roster, and we won’t have to wait long to get our fangs, I mean hands on it.

Mortal Kombat 1 will officially launch on September 19, or September 14 for those who pre-ordered the Kollector and Premium Editions. It will be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
