Nintendo To Hold A 3DS Focused Direct Presentation On September 1st

In a report from Polygon, it was announced that Nintendo will be holding its first Nintendo Direct presentation in while. The event will take place this Thursday on September 1st  at 10 A.M EST, 7 A.M PST. You can catch the presentation on Nintendo’s site.

We haven’t seen a Direct since March when Nintendo talked about the Wii U and the 3DS. This time, the conference will be totally dedicated to the 3DS its games in particular and nothing else.

Yes, the company made sure to mention that this Direct presentation will have nothing to do with the NX which is currently slated for release in March of 2017.

Most likely the event will have a new trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Moon as well as the new Yo-Kai Watch Boney Spirits and Fleshy Souls.

This isn’t the first 3DS announcement Nintendo has made this week. Just yesterday Nintendo of America’s President Reggie Fils-Amie tweeted a short video showcasing the latest limited edition 3DS.

It’s called the “New Galaxy Style New Nintendo 3DS XL” because of the starscape pictured on the front of the device.  At the end of the video, Fils-Amie said that the new console would be out later this week. While that isn’t specific Gamestop does say it’s release date is September 2nd.  Whenever it comes out it should be a nice treat for fans who wanted to upgrade but didn’t like the standard red and black currently on offer.

Check back here later this week for all the news to come out of the Direct presentation. As for the NX, Nintendo said recently that the company would need to do a better job explaining the console to consumers if they want it to sell better than the Wii U.
