Nintendo released a firmware update (Ver. 11.0.0) for the Switch yesterday. The system update will be available for download via the internet in an effort to make it a user-friendly experience. The biggest takeaway from this update is that users will now be able to transfer screenshots and video captures to their smart devices. Several fixes, new usability, and stability for the platform were also patched in this update.
With this new 11.0.0. update, users will be able to transfer up to ten images and one video capture to their smart devices at once. To start the transfer of these media types, users will have to go to the Album icon, click on the desire media to transfer, and there will be a new “Smart to Smart Device” option. The transfer is completed by scanning the QR code that pops up on the Switch: depending on the smart device, users may need to have a QR app downloaded to scan the code. The other patches that came through this update were a new Nintendo Switch Online icon that was added to the Home Menu, automatic downloads backed up to the Save Data Cloud, a new Trending feature, users can prioritize multiple downloads, and Copy to a Computer via USB Connection feature was added as well.
The update should be automatically downloaded when connected to the internet, but users can manually download it if needed by going into their System Settings.
