The trailer begins with Link diving through the skies of Hyrule before gliding onto grassy lands. He explores Hyrule’s vast terrain, from peaceful villages to tall mountains. However, the trailer takes a dramatic turn when it shows Link diving through the air to catch a falling Zelda. Link is then shown exploring dangerous lands and even riding a horse. The trailer cuts to a conversation between Zelda and an unknown individual, where they talk about how Link will be “the last line of defense”. Link is also seen in combat with various enemy types. The trailer also features the return of Ganondorf, who was confirmed to be voiced by Matthew Mercer.
Legend of Zelda fans have been eager about Tears of the Kingdom since its recent gameplay presentation. However, there’ve been a couple of disputes over the game outside development. One of them was Nintendo’s recent subpoena of Discord due to a highly sensitive Tears of the Kingdom art book leaking on the platform. The game’s $70 price has also garnered some controversy. Regardless, Tears of the Kingdom‘s release is sure to amaze longtime Legends of Zelda players.
The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is scheduled to launch on May 12th for the Nintendo Switch.
