Fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may be happy to hear that the fifth DLC character in the game will be revealed soon. According to Polygon, game director Masashi Sakurai will be holding a livestream tomorrow on the 16th of January at 6 a.m. PT/ 9 a.m. ET that will go on for 35 minutes.
In regards to how he feels now that the final DLC character is being released, Sakurai stated that “To me, it feels like the finish line is sliding farther away,” […] You may wonder, ‘How much longer can he be involved with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?’ But I’m also excited. Adding more characters into the game means more game worlds will be added to the series, and ultimately, that means there will be an even greater opportunity to delight the fans.” He went on to state that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will likely have the largest roster in the franchise’s history and that future Smash Bros. titles may not have as many characters in the roster.
While it is currently unknown who the DLC character is, fan theories are abound with IGN theorizing that it may be Dante from the Devil May Cry series. This theory can be supported by Matt Walker’s tweet on January 7th revealing that Devil May Cry 3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and that gamers should look out for the dates January 16th, January 30th, and February 13th. While the date could be a coincidence, it is a possibility as there are several Capcom characters already available in the fighting roster. No new information is available at the moment but more information will be revealed tomorrow at 6 a.m. PT /9 a.m. ET.
