The last Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase revealed Shin Megami Tensei V, new Candence of Hyrule content, and more in the last presentation focused on games coming from Nintendo’s development and publishing partners. For September 2020, Nintendo has revealed that two new Monster Hunter games, the sequel to Fitness Boxing, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and more during the latest Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.
Monster Hunter Rise is the next installment to the Monster Hunter series bringing in several new and exciting mechanics to the game such as the Wirebug which brings in wire-based grappling actions to the series. The Wirebug can be used to traverse the environment and in battle. Rise also sees the inclusion of new hunting partners called Palamutes. These are personalized and rideable “canyne companions that provides players with a new set of attack options. “Felyne” Palicoes also make a return to the series.
New monsters being introduced to the series include the shape-shifting Aknosom, amphibious Tetranadon, and the new flagship monster, Magnamalo. Monster Hunter Rise launches on March 26, 2021. The Deluxe Edition of the game includes the game and a digital DLC pack voucher that can be redeemed for in-game content such as a “Kamurai” full layered armor set, exclusive gestures, cosmetic items, and more. The Limited Collector’s Edition includes everything from the Deluxe Edition plus physical items such as a monster icon sticker pack, Kamura Mark enamel pin, and an amiibo figure of Magnamalo.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has players assume the role of a young Monster Rider who uses a Kinship Stone to form strong bonds with monsters. Players can gain experience and improve their skills to form deeper connections with the monsters. More information about the game will be revealed in the future. Monster Hunter Stories is a spinoff of the Monster Hunter series that deviates from the multiplayer action and into an RPG. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is slated to come out in Summer 2021.
Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise has been announced. In total, there are 66 courses and 23 songs players can choose from. Additions coming to the game include a two-player mode, an alarm function, the ability to turn off boxing moves. There are also three new trainers you can choose from. Save data from the first game can be transferred as well. Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise launches on December 4, 2020.
Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is the first new game in the series in six years. Players will place as Zedd, a Zombie who, because of Super Reincarnation becomes stronger when he dies. Max damage could reach the quadrillions and the max player level is nearly 100 million. Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny will be available in Summer 2021 exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo also announced that Disgaea 5: Complete will be free-to-play for Nintendo Switch Online members for a limited time starting on September 23 at 10 am PDT – September 29 at 11:59 pm PDT.
Empire of Sin is a new strategy game set in the 1920s Prohibition-era Chicago. Players will step in the shoes of one of the fourteen real and historically inspired mob bosses such as Al Capone, Stephanie St. Clair, or Goldie Garneau. Your goal is to assemble a gang, build and manage your empire, and keep it safe from rival gangs.
Sniper Elite 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch Holiday 2020. the game lets players experience tactical third-person combat, gameplay choice, and epic sharpshooting across gigantic levels as you liberate World War 2 Italy. Some of the Nintendo Switch features include feeling every shot with HD rumble and the ability to pan the battlefield with gyroscopic controls.
Other games coming to Nintendo Switch include The Long Dark, an exploration, survival game that takes place in the aftermath of geomagnetic disaster. The game comes with a story mode or players can enjoy hours of permadeath survival gameplay. PGA Tour 2k21 will be available physically on September 25. Hades is officially out of Early Access and is available on Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
Balan Wonderworld is an action platformer themed around the Balan Theatre. As Leo and Emma, players will equip 1 out of total of 80 costumes that have a variety of abilities as they collect trophies and battle bosses to go onto the next stage. The game also has a co-op mode. Balan Wonderworld launches on March 26, 2021.
Rune Factory 5 is the next entry in the Rune Factory simulation RPG series. Players will star as someone who loses their memory and finds themselves in a small town. There, they become rangers where they will be able to farm the land, cast a line into the nearby river, and more. New to the series is the ability to team up with townsfolk to unleash powerful combination attacks. Rune Factory 5 will be available in 2021.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is out now for Nintendo Switch. In the sequel, embark on an all-new adventure in a vast and exotic world where towering enemies and challenging puzzles block the path to discovering Ori’s true destiny. Ori and the Will of the Wisps feature new skills, new spirit weapons, spells, attacks, and a new shard-system that players can use to power up Ori’s abilities.
