Nightbound, a new indie game by Crooked Cats Studio is slated to arrive on Steam in the early part of 2027. The trailer features a duo, containing one man and woman, as they fight to survive. The trailer starts with the female character pulling out a gun and aiming it at the male character; in the hallway of a boarded up house which the female character owns. It then shows the duo using guns to fight against giant insectoid monsters with different abilities and the powers to deal damage against both players, however, they are able to stave off some monsters with grenades that cause fires. It seems that their main point of contact with the outside world is a radio, which tells players information and that they “made it through another night.”
The duo play games, scavenge to find items and cook with an interesting mini game where you match the number to the cooking objects needed. The two find a broken van, and use the same number dynamics as before, but with numbers corresponding to the tools needed to restart it. As they go on, they encounter bigger insects, some with the power to shoot multiple blasts at once, and it seems either one of the duo can fight a specific monster at a time, they can also “Double Team” where they fight a monster together. In the trailer, it also seems that some shots can hit multiple monsters at once, and there may be a shield or health based ability based on the bright silver shield with an upwards arrow on the male character. As the trailer continues the two encounter harder monsters, one with a mass shotgun-like attack, but the two characters have combo moves including throwing one character across monsters to get the space to fight back. They continue fighting before the screen turns red and a part of the wall cracks as a monster comes out and roars then the trailer ends.
