Niantic Shows Off Live Action Story Trailer for Wizards Unite

The last that was heard from Niantic’s Harry Potter: Wizards Unite! Was that they were allowing players to reserve their Player Name or Code Name in the upcoming mobile game. This ran for so long. During that time, players from both Pokemon Go and Ingress were able to have their usernames go into the new game. And while players were able to hold onto their usernames, there wasn’t anything new about the upcoming title. Previously, there had been showcase of the gameplay and what it would look like. The ARG style that Niantic became known for with Pokemon Go.

And while Wizards Unite is heading to mobile devices soon, Niantic has released out a new trailer in the meantime:

The trailer shows off a distress call from the Ministry of Magic. The call is about how non magic folk, muggles, are being exposed to much to the magic around them. And that all the wizards are needing to unite to help capture the creatures, take down Death Eaters, stop Dementors, and much more to help contain and control the magic world being seen too much by the muggles. This is shown with the danger meter going all the way to the highest level it can be.

The trailer shows off some more of the creatures and Confoundables (the bad guys, essentially), that can be found inside the game. The trailer is sadly not a launch trailer, to some fans dismay, but it does show off some of the story that previous trailers had not. There’s no harm in Niantic building this game up as it’s still currently one the most anticipated mobile games to be coming out for 2019. As for the time being, fans will have to wait just a little bit longer before Wizards Unite is in the palm of their hands.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite! Will be available on iOS and Android systems some time in 2019.
