New We Are Chicago Trailer Explores Life In A Rough Neighborhood

Amid the recent violence in Chicago, according to Polygon, a new trailer for We Are Chicago was released at PAX. This comes at a critical time as 8 people were murdered due to gun violence in Chicago, one being the cousin of NBA superstar Dwayne Wade.

The trailer showcases a dramatic first person view of daily life in a tough Chicago neighborhood. It is real, gritty, and powerful. The previewed story is one that is all too close to home for people who are familiar with gun violence and life in a low income area. This game shows just how far developers are willing to go to provide gamers with immersive stories and a more realistic experience.

The game via its trailer does just that, the trailer alone provides a heart pounding experience from the gun that is pulled on you to the gunshot you hear while eating dinner. We Are Chicago is some of the most compelling gameplay that has come in a really long time.

Check out the emotional trailer below:

If that doesn’t get the heart pounding, what will? We Are Chicago is being developed by Culture Shock Games and will be released on PC and Mac next year. Like the developers name this game will offer its players a “culture shock” and allow people to experience life outside of their comfort zone.

The game tells Aaron’s story as he is forced to endure a life riddled with violence and little chance for opportunity. The characters experience crime everyday and it shapes who they become as the story progresses.

This game is a beautiful realization of what video games are becoming, more than a meaningless platform for desensitized nonsense, rather a way for people to share their lives, stories, and connections. It will allow for players to realize a reality they may have never thought about and offer a new perspective of life.

This game will spark change. Don’t miss it, We Are Chicago comes to PC and Mac 2017.
