Flying Wild Hog’s Shadow Warrior 2, an upcoming game that combines hack-and-slash and shooter game play has released a glory, new trailer and as well as the release date for PC.
The trailer starts out with a bunch of decapitated bodies lying on the ground with what appears to be a pink, fleshy demon with multiple arrows lodged in its back being dragged away from the bodies by a human archer. The archer then fires an arrow that travels by other humans before going through a demon that is already being fought by three other fighters. Following the flight of the arrow, you see another fighter that is firing a minigun in slow motion. The arrow ends with it going through the cigar of a man smoking it before the man catching the arrow. The trailer ends with the logo for Shadow Warrior 2, which includes two men, one firing a sub-machine gun and the other holding a sword, which hints that Shadow Warrior 2 has a combination of hack-and-slash and shooting aspects.
The game will be available for via Steam, GOG and Humble on October 13 for $40. Customers who preordered the game get a 10 percent discount and preorder exclusive Razorback chainsaw katana. Players who own Flying Wild Hog’s previous games Shadow Warrior and Hard Reset Redux will receive an extra 10 percent discount as a “thank you for being a ninja from the start.”
Shadow Warrior 2, which is a direct sequel of 2013’s Shadow Warrior, which itself was a reimagining of the original 1999 game of the same name was first announced in 2015. Protagonist Lo Wang returns, continuing the story from the first game, according to Gamestop.
Writer and narrative designer of Shadow Warrior 2 Slawomir Uliasz said that the game is similar to Doom because of its crude humor, which makes the game stand apart from others, along with its combination of hack-and-slash and shooter mechanics.
