The new trailer for Batman: Arkham VR has just been released. Batman: Arkham VR is the latest game from Rocksteady; the studio that was also responsible for the critically acclaimed Arkham Asylum series. This new game was first announced at E3 2016 in June. It was available to play at E3 along with other high profile VR games such as Psychonauts: Rhombus of Ruin.

According to Collider, the recently released trailer shows new footage and reactions from people playing the game. The trailer reveals the presence of familiar locales such as Wayne Manor and the Batcave. The trailer also shows gameplay mechanics such as the use of Batman’s tools like the batarang.

While the game’s title implies that it takes place in the same continuity as the Arkham games, neither Rocksteady nor Warner Brothers have disclosed when the game takes place. According to Polygon, the game is a character driven murder mystery. At YouTube E3 live, director and co-creator Sefton Hill had an interview with Geoff Knighley. Hill said that Batman Arkham Knight was originally supposed to be Rocksteady’s final Batman game. However, the team became excited by the possibilities to expand the Batman mythos with VR.

Warner Brothers and Rocksteady are pushing Batman: Arkham VR as the ultimate Batman simulator. Below is an excerpt from an official Warner Brothers press release for the game:

In this first Dark Knight virtual reality experience, you’ll descend into the Batcave, don the cowl and immerse yourself in Gotham City and Wayne Manor like never before.

One factor about the game that might need mentioning is the game’s legnth. According to Patrick Keplick from Polygon, Batman: Arkham VR is about an hour long. However, it is not charged as a full priced game. The game only costs $19.99.

Batman: Arkham VR is slated for an October release exclusively for the PlayStationVR.
