New Story Trailer Released for Gothic Fairytale Action Adventure Game: Lost in Random

Electronic Arts teamed up with award-winning Swedish game studio, Zoink, to create a new gothic, Tim Burton-inspired fairytale action game, Lost in Random. The teaser trailer, which was released on June 16, shows us that the dark storyline takes place in the Kingdom of Random–where everyone’s destiny is determined by a single dice roll controlled by the Queen. Players will play as Even, a penniless girl trying to save her beloved sister, Odd, who rolled an unfortunate destiny and was taken away by the Queen. On this journey, Even will be accompanied by a small and strange dice named Dicey. Together, they will try to embrace the chaos created by the Queen and battle their way through the Kingdom of Random in hopes of rescuing Odd.

Eisner Award-winning writer, Ryan North, will be penning the highly-visual world of Lost in Random. North is known for his work in Adventure Time, Jughead, Dinosaur Comics, and Marvel Comics’ The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Zoink, the collaborative team member joining EA on this project is also very established. They have produced a number of games since 2010 with some of their most notable being Fe, Flipping Dead, and Ghost Giant.

Last year, Lost in Random was revealed during EA’s Play showcase and in recent news, Tribeca Games Festival featured the game–praising it for its visually appealing graphics and gameplay.

Though the developers have yet to announce a specific release date for Lost in Random–the creators stated that the game is slated to launch later this year on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. So, if you want to experience fearsome battles, tactical combat, card collection, and an explosive dice gameplay, this adaptive game, stylize like a large board game, may be the next game you add to your collection.
