It’s been a while since we heard anything in regard to Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. upcoming title Hogwarts Legacy. The title was delayed to 2022 more than year ago, and did not make an appearance during E3 2021. Since then it’s been fairly quiet on the progression of the IP, until now. The developer and publisher have announced through PlayStation that their title will be featured on special State of Play presentation later this week on Thursday, March 17 and will be roughly 20 minutes of an extended first look at the gameplay.
Community Manager Chandler Wood states that the anticipation has gone up steadily since the title was announced back in 2020 as the reveal trailer has been viewed more than”28 million times.” As for the State of Play, Wood mentions that the actual gameplay will take up a little more than 14 minutes of the presentation, with the remaining few moments being saved for some “insight” by Wood and other members of Avalanche. Wood also pointed out that the gameplay shown will be captured on a PlayStation 5.
Wood ends the blog with an emphatic statement “This is an incredible moment that we’ve been building towards for a long time. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.” It’s very apparent that Avalanche has been hard at work these past 14 months, and with ample time to progress the development, we’re very excited to see what they have to show us this week. The State of Play Hogwarts Legacy gameplay reveal will take place this week on Thursday, March 14 at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET. You can watch it on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels
