New Spine Gameplay Trailer Has Fans Sceptical of its Authenticity

A new gameplay trailer for the upcoming single-player action game Spine has left many Internet users confused. The gameplay shown in its latest trailer, according to some, looks far too good to be legitimate.

Spine, developed by global mobile game publisher Nekki, markets itself as a face-paced action game with detailed cyberpunk environments and “lifelike” animation thanks to the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.

Players will take the role of a street artist named Redline and her sentient combat implant, Spine on their quest to topple an “autocratic AI regime.”

The gameplay trailer shows a compilation of different combat scenarios from hand-to-hand, to guns. The sheer detail on each clip is what left many baffled. While graphics in video games have progressed to an almost movie-like quality in recent years, it has yet to blur the line between CGI cutscenes and actual gameplay.

So, it’s unsurprisingly that many are skeptical at the gameplay footage being legitimate. Spine isn’t the only game that has baffled the internet with its graphics. An upcoming first-person shooter (FPS) game titled UNRECORDED baffled many with its near-photorealistic visuals in its announcement trailer.

Regardless, fans can only speculate until the developers come out to confirm or deny their rising speculations. While a release date is unknown, Spine will be playable on the PS5, Series X|S, and PC. Currently, future players can wishlist the game on Steam.
