New Pokémon Go Glitch Allows Player To Hold On To Gym Indefinitely

Just like any video game, players of Pokémon Go have been finding various glitches in the game that weren’t supposed to be there, making the game easier for players who exploit them. A brand new glitch has been discovered, allowing players to hold on to their gyms indefinitely by not allowing any challenger to face the gym.

Players challenge gyms by walking close to the gym, tapping on the gym leader’s Pokémon and battling the gym leader’s Pokémon with their own. However, players have discovered that if you put an egg in the front slot of the gym, players won’t be able to challenge the gym, according to Gamespot. After all, an egg isn’t capable of battling any Pokémon.

A video posted on YouTube by the user PoGo Marki shows himself trying to take on the New York Times Pokémon Gym and not being able to because the lead Pokémon is an egg. Even though he cannot battle the gym, he can still use the Pokéstops next to the New York Times:

Not being able to do things with an egg in the party is nothing new when it comes to games. In the main series games for the 3DS, you can’t trade eggs through wonder trade or with your friends and you can’t only have an egg in your party.

Not only does this prevent other players from battling other gym leaders, the gym leaders also can use the glitch to take advantage of the Pokécoin system. As long as a player has control of a gym, they get Pokécoins. Since the egg at the opening slot of the party can’t be battled, the gym leader can keep on racking up the Pokécoins.

Most players are going to have to buy Pokécoins with their own money, but holding onto gyms also gives players Pokécoins, according to Telegraph. Players then spend their Pokécoins at the shops, allowing you to buy various kinds of Pokéballs, lures, healing items, lucky eggs and other Pokémon eggs that you can find by chance at Pokéstops.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
