New Nintendo Direct Set For February 13

A brand new Nintendo Direct is coming tomorrow, with the promise of more information on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. For those who don’t know, the Nintendo Direct is pre-recorded video in which representatives from Nintendo speak to the viewer directly where they announce new IP’s, updates to current games, and new trailers. Nintendo also uses the E3 platform to showcase their new games in this fashion.

According to Nintendo, the Direct will be approximately 35 minutes, with most of the focus on the upcoming Fire Emblem game. First announced at E3 2018, the game appears to retain the standard turn-based style that the series is known for, with a unique twist. While in battle, special troop formations can aid your unit, creating a huge advantage in your favor. As for the story, the game takes place in Fodlan, where the Church of Seiros abuses its power over everyone in the land. Beyond that, there is very little information about the story line or any additional features that may or may not be present within the game.

Hopefully the upcoming Direct will shed some light on these missing details. The Fire Emblem series has seen a resurgence in the past 6 years, mostly due in part to the surprise success of Fire Emblem: Awakening in 2013. This continued with the critically acclaimed Fire Emblem: Fates which saw three different versions of the game, all while maintaining an interweaving plot line. While the Nintendo Direct may be focused on Fire Emblem, we’re still holding out hope for some tidbit on some of the other Nintendo franchises tomorrow.

The Nintendo Direct will start at 2:00 pm PST/ 5:00 pm EST, on Wednesday, February 13, and will be available to watch on their main website or their Youtube.
