New Minecraft DLC Allows You to Fly

There’s already plenty of things to do in Minecraft. You can build just about anything you can imagine. However, just because you can do a lot of things, doesn’t mean you can do all of the things. A new DLC being released March 28 is minigame that allows you to fly. The mini game is called Glide, in which you use the Elytra wings made available in the Christmas DLC. You use the wings to participate in race-against-the-clock Time Attack or in Score Attack, which rewards you for going through for racing through as many time hoops as possible during a set time.

You can go faster in your journey thanks to boosters and thermal drafts and you’ll be able to refine your skills as you kind more and more shortcuts throughout the course. However, only one course will be available at the release. It’s inspired by the Battle map Cavern, according to David Keningale, art developer at co-developer 4J.

“We put Battle’s Cavern map into the track as a test … [and] it took less than three seconds to fly through! We quickly realized that Glide’s maps would have to be huge,” Keningale said.

A blog post on the official Minecraft website says that up to 16 players will be able to race against each other on the PS4 and the Xbox One, but it is unclear if it will be on other platforms. More tracks will be arriving as DLC; the first is believed to be “themed around beasts.” Some of them will be free, including one that is themed around Temple.

In other news, Minecraft, an indie building game has sold over 120 million copies with over 55 millions people playing the game in the span of only one month. The game is confirmed to be headed to the Nintendo Switch, but the released date on the new system has yet to be confirmed.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
