Bandai Namco has released a trailer for a new Power Rangers arcade style beat-em-up game, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle. The game is a side scroller and based on the trailer seems to be based on the first two seasons of the incredibly popular Power Rangers TV series. The trailer shows off six rangers namely: black, pink, red, yellow, blue, and everyone’s favorite, green. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle allows for four players to be on the screen at once and seems to work like most games in that beat-em-up genre. The trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle can be seen below.
This game is also drenched in nostalgia. The trailer shows off characters anyone who watched the show back in the 90s like Alpha 5, Zordon, and of course the rangers themselves. The incredibly recognizable villains from the series also make appearances: Rita Repulsa, Goldar, Lord Zedd, and the Puddies. There is also the inclusion of boss battles which match up with the structure of the show. Essentially on the trailer the level ends with the rangers facing a huge version of the monster they were originally fighting and then ultimately coming together to form a Zord and take out another one of Rita Repulsa’s many, many monsters. The boss battles also seem to contain quick time events as a part of the cut scenes. Some off screen footage from New York Comic Con of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle can be seen below.
