New Maps and More Come With Gears of War 4’s December DLC

There are more DLCs coming to Gears of War 4 during the month of December, according to Microsoft. Not only is there a DLC coming for the month of December, but later there will be a Christmas-themed DLC coming later in the month.

The new maps are called Speyer and Glory. Speyer shows what life looked like before the Locust invasion. It has plenty of long sightlines, so players who are proficient snipers might enjoy this map the best. Glory is best used for players who like to gun players down with rapid fire weapons. It features a large fortress. The fortress has a mounted turret at the top, so players who control that area of the map can gun down countless enemies.

Both maps will be available to download and play in multiplayer on December 13. When the maps are released, the Gridlock and Relic maps are going to vanish for the time being. It was previously announced that all of the Gears of War 4 multiplayer maps will be playable on a rotating basis. If you want to play one of the older maps, you have to buy the season pass or purchase the maps individually.

Players who have the season pass can play the maps on December 6 through the “Developer” playlist. Season pass owners will receive extra XP and credit awards for playing the maps from December 6 to December 13.

Microsoft wants to add two maps per month, adding up to a total 24 free maps when the event runs out. Microsoft is also planning more updates for the future, including a new lobby for the Core and Competitive playlists.

The second DLC that is coming for Gears of War 4 is a Christmas-themed one, in which Microsoft calls a “Gearsmas” event. There will be unreleased new content, unlockable holiday heads and an event in which you get to use a winter-themed version of a popular weapon.

Gears of War 4 is currently discounted at $36 on Xbox Live.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
