New Look At The Setting Of Days Gone; Pre Order Bonuses & Special Editions Detailed

Over at the PlayStation Blog today, Sony and Bend Studio provided some new details about their upcoming game, Days Gone. A new trailer, part of a gameplay series, was released that went over and discussed the world of Days Gone, which is set in a place called the Farewell Wilderness. The video goes through some of the things that players can look forward to when they play the game.

Throughout the first of three videos giving a look at the Farewell Wilderness, Bend Studio showcases the different types of locations that you will play through during your time with Days Gone. You can travel through thick forests of ponderosa and pine that is packed with wolves; you can venture off into lava caves that are filled with Freakers; there are also snowy mountains and foothills that you can travel through. Like most places you’ll encounter in the game, danger lurks behind every corner, filled with Freakers, other animals, and a faction known as the Marauders who are set up in camps all across the regions of Days Gone.

Also throughout the Farewell Wilderness are mass graves which draw swarms and hordes of Freakers. Every Freaker is looking to feed so you can either stay and fight a horde of them, or try to escape on your bike. John Garvin, the Creative Director of Days Gone, says that “riding the broken roads through Days Gone offers landscapes that change quickly and dramatically, a living, breathing world – filled with things trying to kill you.”

Another video released today highlights the pre-order bonuses that you can receive in the game. The majority of the bonuses are all upgrades for the bike. A shroud upgrade will increase defense against bullets and Freakers; a gas tank upgrade lets you travel farther on a full tank; a nitrous upgrade gives the bike a speed burst for chasing and escaping. You can also unlock the drifter crossbow early.

There will also be a Digital Deluxe and a Collector’s edition of the game. The Digital Deluxe edition comes with a digital mini art book, digital soundtrack, three additional drifter bike skins, and an additional early skill unlock and theme. The Collector’s edition features everything from the Digital Deluxe edition plus a statue, set of patches, six pins, four decals, a steel book, physical soundtrack and a 48-page mini art book by Dark Horse Comics. Days Gone will be released on April 26, 2019, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
