A new LEGO game titled LEGO 2K Drive is coming from 2K Games after numerous leaks and an IGN post earlier today all but confirming the title, but has since been taken down. LEGO teased the announcement for the game earlier this week on their Twitter saying “We are not supposed to say anything,” alongside a winky face and an attached video announcing a new racing title from the franchise but to stay tuned for more info on March 23rd.

Despite the full announcement tomorrow, there have been leaks for weeks now and the IGN post all but confirmed most of the details. The game which is being developed from Visual Concepts, who’ve also developed games such as NBA 2K and WWE 2K, will be stepping into the racing formula with the looks and immersion of a LEGO title. The game is said to be an open world with multiple biomes, mini games, races, collectibles and challenges, as well as a dedicated main campaign. There also will be multiplayer, both online and split screen co-op.
Since it’s a LEGO game, customization will be the noteworthy feature of the racing title, players can build any vehicle they want to with over 1,000 Lego pieces at their disposal. There are preset cars from other LEGO titles such as LEGO City as well.
LEGO 2K Drive will come in three editions: Standard Edition, Awesome Edition, and Awesome Rivals Edition. The Awesome Edition will give players a new vehicle, car flair, and the 1- Year Pass. The most expensive Awesome Rivals Edition will include numerous vehicles, mini-figures, a new biome and more post-launch content.
LEGO has licensed a large swath of some great video game titles in the past 2 decades, from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, LEGO Harry Potter, MMO-style games and many more. There were the LEGO Racers games of the early 00s but there’s never been a solid LEGO racing title for LEGO fans, nor anything unique in the past decade.
Currently, LEGO 2K Drive is slated for release on May 19 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
